Here is an example of a customer who needed to have their TV on a wall in the kitchen that was not your typical wall. The ‘strong wall’ are steel shear-walls for added strength, and required in many counties. The thing is putting wire into a steel wall makes getting it there hard, then the actual installation of the TV bracket becomes very difficult, especially without pictures.
I have a flatscreen TV in my living room, and mounting it to the wall was a challenge; the wall wouldn’t hold it. They ended up attaching a board to the wall to the wall behind the TV and to the other side of the wall (which is the downstairs 1/2 bath) and running the bolts thru the boards and the wall and reinforcing it that way. It’s held for 2 years . . .
